Insight for living Canada 2011 Calendar

Nothing beats finally seeing that project in full, living colour!

I've been working on this project for a while (in reality, i had a rediculously short deadline as usual, so it was working on it a LOT for a short while) and its finally done! I now present the Insight for Living Canada 2011 Calendar. Our calendars are always based off of the US Calendar (from Insight for Living) but adapted to be more appealing and appropriate to Canadians. This year, we found all new photos along the theme of "the dawn of a church awakening." We tried really hard to display the beauty and diversity of our wonderful country.

I personally have a bit more pride in the tent calendar, which was a Canadian project which I started from scratch. The look of it is still heavily influenced by the original American design. In the end, I'm extremly fond of how both products turned out!

You can get either Calendar at www.insightforliving.ca. They're inexpensive (in fact, the wall calendar is the IFLC October free gift!). Tell all your friends. I mean it. And while you're at it, take pity and follow my blog. :D

This gorgeous photo from near Harrison was taken by a wonderful local photographer, Mikaela. You can follow her inspiring photography blog here.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, This is a Bible!"October Insights

I feel giddy adding these pictures, i absolutely LOVE this issue. My favorite so far, by far. I had a lot of fun, and ironically enough it was the shortest deadline I've had yet (maybe that's the key!). Here it is!

This illustration was tons of fun. I love playing with different mediums for my illustrations, taking a break from working with photos. Open your mind to the possibilities.... lol
This is probably a personal favorite in the magazine. I was driving home from the ferry terminal and passed right by this fantastic abandoned house. I pulled over and took a bunch of photos (i was working on the magazine and had this article in mind).
Trying to get a dog to cooperate in a photo shoot is harder than it looks.

Turn up the A + C!

A few months ago I had the extreme privilege of photographing my friends engagement. Not only engagement photos, but the actual popping of the question! I hid in the bushes and got some terrible but hilarious photos, followed by some really adorable ones we took downtown Vancouver. It was a blast, congrats you two! I wish you the very best!

Inspire Me!

This week I had a bit of a revelation. Somehow over the past year I've actually lost the ability to relax. I mean it! I am so busy these days, that when I have free time, i don't know what to do with it! Not in the passive "oh I just don't know what to do with my afternoon, *giggle*" kind of way, but the "someone PLEASE rescue me from my own boring company because I can't handle dead air!!!" kind of way.

I'm sick of TV, I'm sick of facebook, and I'm sick of watching my passions and creativity dwindle to nothing outside of the "work" box. So.

I've started a blog. And I've started to paint!
